Specific Responsibilities
The Control Committee delegation is mandated to scrutinise activities in the domain of state security and intelligence services.
In order to carry out this mandate the delegation disposes of far-reaching rights to obtain information.
After having informed the Federal Council, the Control Commission delegation has the right to demand any documentation it deems to be useful from the federal authorities, the cantons or other parties. It has the right to question federal officials and other parties as an informant or witness without taking consideration of official or military secrecy.
